To mark the International Day of Human Rights, the Flemish League for Human Rights has bestowed its annual Award on Saturday 8 December.
This year, the League paid tribute to the Brussels open art house Globe Aroma. This artistic work and meeting place offers newcomers the space, time and support to gently improve the world through artistic exchange. Here, the right to freedom, cultural experience and artistic expression takes precedence over residency status.
For many artists who are new to our country, Globe Aroma is one of the few places where they can express themselves freely (from painting on canvas to the mixing board and text to dance), share experiences, develop a network and get to know Brussels through cultural excursions.
